Shock Tower Protectors Silverstone

Just a reminder to anyone doing the first regional at Silverstone that the club do require a shock tower protector to be fitted to at least the front tower to protect from damage to the astro turf. The club have protectors for sale on the day but just in case anyone wanted to come up with their own solution I just wanted to give some warning.

Is it for every car nathan? For example if the front tower is the smooth point and doesnt have front facing bolts or shocks ie. B4 front end

Every front end IMO Russ or else it's open to individual interpretation as to what is suitable and what isn't.

On a side note, I hope that people who book in for the regional class intend doing more than this one round or else the points are screwed up for those of us who wish to do the series. It's not that clear on the entry form that you can't score points in other regions if you score them in this Mid East meeting. You should only enter the 2wd buggy class if you wish to score Mid East regional championship points and compete in the Mid East regional series. For everyone else, you should enter the open class. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong !

I'm afraid I wont be attending this meeting but will be at all the others.

If anyone needs anything taking let me know.

Many thanks:)

This happens at every host clubs event, you will always get an influx of club drivers, maybe this should be discussed at booking in / drivers meeting !

Worst case, maybe a minimum of 2 rounds to count, this would stop the affect on championship tables

Very true Andy 😛

There's no open class at nationals though or else I'd happily go in it.

More the merrier, just don't see any point in scoring points if you're only using it as a practice meeting personally. Touch wood, unless there a bunch of fast F1 there, it won't affect me very much. I'm thinking more for the mid pack regulars like your good self :p ;).

In Mid West any drivers not doing that region get put into guest heats, I trust this will be the same at Mid East? It keeps things sensible and stops the day being ruined for the region's point scorers.

nottmboy 08-03-2015 09:35 PM

@ rick I'd happily settle for mid pack!

@ Andy anyone competing in another region cannot run in ours
and would be in a guest heat.
