Slipper clutch dust.

Just some help please.

Iv taken off the slipper clutch case for a motor swap today and noticed there was a reasonable amount of dust under the cover. It looks as though it has come from the slipper pads. Is this a sign I have been running the clutch too loose or would this be expected in normal running??

Sorry but I'm new to Buggies and the slipper clutch thing.

What car?

It's a Losi 22 buggy

Not the 2.0

I've seen that on a car before but it wasn't the slipper, it was a bad mesh, because it was badly meshed the spur gear was wearing out causing the dust.

The spur looks as new but the slipper pads do look as though they have had friction.

I've seen it on occasions if the slipper has been slipping a lot and got hot.

If the pads and plates look really shiny and there is obvious wear marks on them it might be worth putting some new ones in, alternatively you can use some really fine grade sandpaper which will help.
