Variable timing on brushless 13.5T stock motors

Hi All,

This question is aimed at any clubs out there running 13.5T brushless stock motors. Where does your club stand on allowing variable timing either electronically via the ESC or physically via the motor in a stock class?

Cheers,
Jon.

The draft BRCA brushless specs can be found here:

http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/r...ss%20final.pdf

there seem to be no requirements for fixed timing in the motor construction and also a paragraph suggesting ESC's currently in use can alter timing.

Is this where brushless stock is going? was the fixed timing of the orginal novak 13.5T offering now a thing of the past?

:eh?:

I think that as brushless speed controllers can alter the timing electronically there's probably not much point in mechanically locking the timing on the motor.

I would say that most clubs wouldnt have a view either way. This issue would be more important at regionals and nationals where stuff like that would matter.
