My RallyX

Heres my first (2nd hand) 1/8th buggy! It's a Hong Nor X1CR Pro

I'll hopefully get a new shell done in time for my first race (Neo Invitational) as this one is a little bit -errrrrr - yellow!!! haha. Stickers applied to cover up as much as possible.

I'll be doing a lil report updated each night and photos from the NeoInvitational, which should be a pretty big race from the looks of it.

So come on then, is it just me and doughty who are going on this forum ?

I'm going on Saturday. Went to the last event there. (DXR event) More of a supercross track with 16 jumps per lap.
Good luck for the weekend and will seek you out and have a chat if you are not busy taking photo's and doing car stuff.

think the shell look's quite good, at least you would be able to see it through all the smoke and fumes!

Slimboyfat 03-12-2006 11:09 AM

yeah I think the shell looks pretty good, nice array of tasteful stickers too.

Chris Doughty 04-12-2006 09:06 AM

what engine are you going to run Jimmy?

I hope my car gets caught in your scope quite often :P the way its looking it certainly deserves it :D

BenG 04-12-2006 09:22 AM

Whereabouts is the race?

That is one nice looking oOple banana ( I mean rallyX ;):D)

Good luck to Chris and Jim

I have a 2 race old hobao hyper 21 8-port. It's the only engine I have to run, so I hope it works ok. Going to get it going this week some time and give it a bit of carpark action to see if it runs alright. its in bits in my kitchen at the moment.

dave g 04-12-2006 10:32 AM

well if you struggle you know where i am jim,you can always drop it off.

should be ok tho, nice solid engines,if its tight warm it up with a hairdrier first, this will loosen it up for the first few runs if its fairly new.

jimmy 04-12-2006 02:19 PM

Thanks mate, I will nip up to priceys and nick his starter box some time this week, see if I can get it going, if I am struggling (probably) I'll give you a buzz! and bring it over one lunch time for your loving touch
:)

got a shell and wing on the way thanks to jamie, so no more of this blinding yellow nonsense.:o

dave g 05-12-2006 09:29 AM

make sure you threadlock all the metal to metal parts jimmy, inc driveshaft grubscrews and engine bolts or they will move.
if you have had the engine backplate or carb off for any reason they could do with being sealed with high temp rtv silicone gasket sealant to prevent any air leaks, especially the backplate,if that has the slightest air leak it will run lean and inconsistent since we use crank fed engines.

I got it running this lunch time, it seemed pretty good - stalled a couple of times though and I decided to give up when I didn't know what the other needles did. the only one Ive ever had to adjust before is the high speed needle - and since the engine is 2nd hand I wasnt sure where the other two should have been

it felt to be idling a bit high

Would it be ok to pop over with it tonight on my way home dave, or tomorrow im off work, or saturday ?
I want it to just run nicely and not cut (haha, doesnt everyone).

It seemed alright anyway, loud as hell, it really screamed around the carpark in my limited testing.

dave g 07-12-2006 01:20 PM

yes pop over when you want with it.

dave

jimmy 08-12-2006 11:35 AM

dave g 08-12-2006 11:45 AM
