I've had both. The Z is a brilliant radio. Very good quality and some awesome features. However, I have smallish hands and its a chunky unit. I now have the new KO and it again is feature filled and great quality. I've fitted optional short sticks to it and it now feels a perfect fit. Both are exceptional radios. You won't go wrong with either. Hope that helps.

Similar for me mate, I've had to dremel bits off my Sanwa to make it comfortable in my hands. I will end up switching back to KO again as it was probably a comfier fit in my hands.

Unfortunately, when I purchased the Sanwa, the KO was announced like a week later.

I hadn't used a stick transmitter in nearly 25yrs, got my hands on the Esprit 4 and was just amazing. No brainer for me KO FTW!

Same same.

The Z is good but what I like about the KO is the weight and fit in your hands, I almost forget about it while driving.
Lots of parameters, less knobs everywhere. That suits me.

I tried the short sticks too but came back to stock ones, feels more progressive.
I miss the 70/30 throttle of the Z and the little resistance added to the brakes (at least mine feels this way)

Was able to fit a 2500mA lipo, power for months.

The Sanwa should stay "like new" a bit longer, better plastics.

Radio choice is about fit for me, my tiny hands need a KO. Though the Sanwa is more popular at SRCC.

I used a Z and now KO... Only issue with the KO is it feels harder to reach full left lock with my fat little hands! Will the short stick improve this, or make it worse?

Hey Dave. I made same switch you have from Z to KO. I fitted short sticks onto mine and it feels sooooo much better for me. My hands aren't large so the KO suits me better. Loved the Z but it was a little too large for my hands.

+1.

Ditched my Sanwa for KO. I upgraded to short sticks and esprit 3 battery box and its a much better fit for my hands.
