sticking lead weights
 

Seeing as we now all l have to run ridiculous amounts of lead in our car to bring them up to weight with lipo, has anybody found an adhesive that actually sticks to lead?

Tried superglue but hs proven pretty ineffectual and my lead weights keep coming unstuck:thumbdown:

double sided tape or the double sided stuff used to stick down speedos and recievers... just make sure the surface your sticking to is flat and clean and it shouldn't come off

Make sure you file and clean the lead weights before you apply your good quality super glue.
Adam & Neil were back flipping the D4 @ Worksop and weights did not move.

try zinc alloy automotive weights as used by tyre garages.they come in 50g strips,5g pieces so you can weigh car to limit within 4g.each strip is self adhesive and if theyre good enough to stick to a car tyre at 100mph plus,theyre good enough for 3 1/2 lbs of plastic going over jumps.i sell loads of the stuff at tracks,if you pm your address i will send you some to try.if you like it you buy it,if not send back what you dont use.as for lead,wouldnt recomend as the ntda banned its use a few years ago due to its poisonous qualities.thanks jez.

Double sided tape sticks real well as long as the surface is clean. You could also heat shrink the lead weight and stick that down with lead weight (as it will stick to the plastic) or heat shrink your lead directly to your lipo. :thumbsup:

Thanks for the suggestions. - Am going to try covering the lead with something and glueing that instead.

Jez - Thanks for the offer - the problem with using zinc alloy (brass?) is it doesnt' weigh enough. I'm finding it hard enough to fit sufficient weight where it's needed with lead!
