new to off road, advice please!
 

hi guys,
ive been running touring cars for several years, i now plan to also get myself an off road set up for the coming summer, probably to be raced at ipswich and colchester mainly. looking for a new 4wd buggy, just wondered what peoples recomendations are? cost isnt too much of an issue, have around £300 ish to spend on the car itself.

Check what people run at the clubs you plan to race at and make your decision about what you like.

Running same buggies, you will be able to get advice from others on setup, options, etc. borrow spares if you break something you don't have spares yourself at the time.

Probably the best advice is to go and have a look at the clubs you will be going to, and see what cars are there, and go with that.

Having a car that more ppl drive at the same club makes setups and parts alot easier to find.

I run at both of those clubs, popular cars would be the TLR 22-4 and XRay XB4 at Coastal.

At Colchester I think it was more of a mix of everything, Xrays, Durangos & some HB D413s are all normally up near the front.

I think whatever is stocked at your LHS is very important if you want to save time/money and not having to wait a fortnight for parts and paying for exchange rate.

so..

1.see what is stocked at your LHS - even though they stock it, do they stock the spares for it?
2.see what's commonly used at the track - you can get tips/advice

my LHS stocks the Yokomo Bmax4 and their parts are relatively cheap! I can't get enough of it. Running 6.5t, jumps easily, broken 2 rear ball studs due to my excess speed and poor driving.
