how long are lap top batteries on average supposed to last?
 

My laptops been on charger nfor the best part of the day and ive had it on for about an hour off charger and its down at 23% life, is this normal:confused::thumbdown:

what is the power saving set at ? mine last 5 to 6 hours on the power saving mode, plus it depends what you are doing as wifi drains it as does watching video and stuff.

Stupid Question, how do you check power saving?
Ive been listening to a bit of music every now and then and ive mostly been on oople or ebay.

click on the battery icon or go into control panel then power saving.

cheers, ill have to try tht later as i have been able to steal the comouter at the moment lol

also the having the brightness set to high will zap your battery life

It varies from machine to machine, I've seen desktop replacements and 'gaming' laptops (those words just don't go together :lol:) last less than 30 minutes :drool:

Mine last 20 mins, if im lucky :thumbsup:

20 mins :o going full steam i can get 2hrs

setting the background wallpaper to solid black willl help a bit

Yeah, shes badgered, but still high spec so i cant be arsed to replace it. I just use my work one if i need to do stuff away from power. :wub

alway run mine without the battery,works just fine on power supply,lol

Mine lasts 2-3 hours until battery starts flashing, and then I charge it - never dumped it, so I don't know the true battery life. I run it from AC mainly though, very rare I take it away from a socket.

Its on charger now, ive lowered the brightness so hopefully that will help lol.
My mums laptop really and sdhe goes ape if i start mucking around with stuff .
Even on the pc i cant change the toolbar or desktop background or she gets annoyed:woot:
