RC10 Worlds '91 NIX91

OK, its been a long time in building due to most parts being sourced from the US, but here we have my basic roller completed.
Ill finish it off over the next couple of days, spent a few hours making those pink wheel dots easily removable, they mount via magnetic sheet, as they are for shelf use only, they work like a charm. It'll be topped off with something epic from Kifo in the morning too!

That's brilliant.....thought only "works team" cars were built...!
How did you manage to get the parts.?

Welshy40 26-12-2014 05:44 PM

Nice, paint job looks stunning.

Mines going to be done by January. Ive the Yokomo adaptors and Yokomo wheels but thanks to MIP going through their warehouse for me and finding a set of B2 ujs (they only had what they sent me) im going to use normal wheels for a while.

Cars based on an RC10T.

ralphee 26-12-2014 06:39 PM

Guys, you can source the chassis set from RC10talk, and the rest from Shapeways in sintered nylon.
Im running MIP B3 CVD's, with Worlds rear wheels, you can source the Yokomo stuff to build a replica be warned its pricey since this car came about haha, but i built my own car, not followed a crowd.
You can however source the Yokomo 825 wheels and adaptors from Shapeways too.
Anyhoo, glad you like, its been a fun journey so far.

Very nicely done, looks very sharp. Body brings everything together as for color scheme.

HKS_TRD 27-12-2014 12:11 AM

Who painted the shell it looks amazing

racingdwarf 27-12-2014 12:43 AM

Maybe kifo as his sticker is on it,and I think he's said kifo did the shell in a post, agree shell matches the rest of the car, jaw dropingly good

ralphee 27-12-2014 06:55 AM

Thanks lads, glad you like it, yes the shell is Kifo, ive had three done now in this flying eyeball design, each just melting my brain more and more!
May get to electrics soon, thinking some nice Novak gear!

Lee,

Can you show us how you did the magnets on the wheel stickers as it sounds a lot easier to do than stick. Thanks.

ralphee 27-12-2014 03:23 PM

Cut the mounting disc/ring. This gets bonded to the wheel permanently these are for the shelf only, so a nice neat bonding, and thats it.
Then cut your outer disc magnet, and then the vinyl, apply to the magnet, check your polarity lol, stick the vinyl on, and bam, apply the outer disc.

Broke out the camera, rather than my cell phone to take some better photographs of the build.
Couple of the scratch built Kydex motor guard too, TBH i forgot to order one from Shapeways, so i though, pah, i can make that lol.
Just need a servo now, for some reason i can't find any spare ones here lol, so time to throw more moolah at it!

Lee

Peakey 31-12-2014 01:32 PM

I've been looking at all sorts was looking at the new AE big boars for the runner but will have to get some 10t ones for the shlefer build to go with the copper springs :)

ralphee 31-12-2014 05:00 PM

Yes 10t ones for sure, copper springs are a nice score, mine are saved for a future build of the Yokomo breed hehe!
Not really sure you would need big bores on it, but its worth a go! Thats the fun of this car mate, there is no wrong way to do it, and variety is a great thing!
