portable or wired to mylap for countdown/GO

Is there such thing as device that shows countdown and go! when at start of heats/final that everyone or i can use that plugs into race controller or standalone device?

With the age of wireless I'm sure it can be done without a my laps device, failing that a relay would need to be added to the speaker circuit to bring on a Green beacon

With BBk software you can have a driver net screen, counts down to race start and then shows the race running. Does a lot more as well.

What exactly are you trying to do, I guess it's more than start a race as a pa system will do that.

What I'm trying to do is to alert myself when its time to go, as I'm hearing impaired. I have to rely on other racer reactions.

If your club uses bbk, and has the correct licence, you can use drivernet on a pc on your desk, it gives you full countdown, heat number running, full results, sounds exactly what you are after.

Doubt it Mr e

Some clubs have start lights, the old tibshelf used to use traffic lights, I'm not sure if these were manual or automatic.
As you need something visual to tell you when your heat/final starts, I would have thought it possible, though not sure if its been done.

Doubt all you like Mr C, but Drivernet is visual and will do the job, as will your traffic light system, if someone makes it.

Both systems are not 100% ideal, but I don't think anyone has designed something specifically for what is requested.

Drivernet will count down to the start of the race, display staggered start order, you would need to check what car goes away before you and then follow after the staggered start. Probably worth using Drivernet in Scoreboard mode so the numbers etc are large.

Traffic lights will indicate when to go, not sure how they would work counting down to the start of the race, or indicating when an individual car goes in a stagger.
