Vintage racing.

Does anyone fancy a vintage class?

NeilRalph77 01-12-2014 06:34 PM

Yeh as long as it's true vintage not re released, not being able to get parts is part of how you temper your driving and makes you wonder if that dodgy pass or big air is worth it or a wishbone? I've nothing against the RC10's but they should be in a class of their own...

J77MYF 01-12-2014 07:36 PM

Yeah of course true vintage. I've just rebuilt my Optima Mid with loads of new parts and don't want to scratch it haha. Just thought it would be a good laugh if there was a few of us.

bricol 01-12-2014 10:20 PM

Oh cars! I thought you meant a class for the old gibbers so they didn't keep getting thrashed by kids ;-)

I've got an CAT to the same spec as I used to run the 80`s.

Now the 80's is where it's at.

Forgot to mention at the last meeting that our scheduled meeting for this Friday the 5th has been shuffled to the 12th Dec. 10electric calendar updated. This is due to Cullingworth Xmas concert. Tickets are £5 ahead for those interested.

pddiggy 01-12-2014 10:55 PM

thats a shame. Does that mean 2 consistent Fridays then (12th & 17th)? :P

Bummer, that's no racing for me then this week, or next due to xmas meal on the 12th.

Did you enquire about sunday's in Dec Nori?

whites75 02-12-2014 06:40 AM

maybe we can squeeze a few extra sessions in over the Christmas break if nothing else booked in?? ........worth a try lol ;)

Tilly 02-12-2014 09:42 AM

No racing, that sucks. A vintage class sounds interesting, I'll have to try get my Cobra working properly again :)

archtech 02-12-2014 11:55 AM

Vintage racing sounds fun, shame I just got into hobby so don't have any vinage stuff.

Ashlandchris 02-12-2014 12:25 PM

Sounds good - plus it'll give me more dates to look hopefully at and then think, "bu$$er, can't make it as I have a child's party to drop / collect or a dance show to drop / collect or a swimming lesson to drop / collect etc".
Actually I ought to take up a hobby that involves dropping and collecting and then everyone would be happy, except I'd be starting at expert level...

My original Optima might get a little showing then...

cobra_shadow 02-12-2014 03:48 PM

I mite have something to add into a vintage race.
And before anyone says in NO not my normal everyday car.

There's always Chadderton!

So it seems a lot of us have something vintage hidden away. I don't know what year cars you all have? I'm thinking 80's and early 90's??

Ha, not likely. I'll go to York Saturday or SYR Sunday for GT12.

I'm sure Nori can squeeze a vintage heat in over one of the xmas meetings.
I could always break out my procat.
