New tamiya chassis conversion for 501x?
 

Its rumer time....

I was talking to the guy in my LHS and he's heard speak of a new chassis conversion from tamiya for the 501 so it will take a normal stick pack lipo aswell as a new shell to match the new shape chassis. I'm not sure how certain this is but he seems pretty convinced.

It seems quite probable as with the lighter lipos it doesnt seem as important to have them at back so a touring car layout should work. Also there is a new TRF shell pictured on this forum which is more boxy to give more room, again maybe to accomodate the new layout.

I suppose only time will tell.

Surely a stick pack layout wouldn't better the current layout?

With a pack down one side it would mean most of the electronics down the motor side making it unbalanced no?

Just another marketing option me thinks, but interesting one none the less.:)

depends on how far you take a conversion though.... is it just a chassis, or would someone do a motor mount and new belts, to move the motor in more central etc etc...

Without actually seeing a pic, no point in commenting.
