Supastox grip roll .

Evening
Myself and a mate ran our supastox tonight , both of us suffered from grip roll, snatch on left hand corners .....
No tweek or anything on either car :(
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this ? Or better still an answer ?
Thanks .

what additive did you use?

shark 08-11-2014 11:20 PM

Both using Sxt .

Why not try running no additive?

That'll generally make the grip roll worse.

What dia. are your tyres trued to? A smear of super glue on the outer edge helps, or running different shore tyres, go harder. I found 60/40 great with the old car.

Not sure it's the tires , was absolutely fine on right handers . Both mine and my mates ??
Thought maybe weight bias ?

Al3xis007 09-11-2014 09:53 AM

Turn the travel down? Or try harder shore fronts

discothesnake 09-11-2014 10:53 AM

I never used additive on my supastox and I never had issues with grip roll.

I don't think it's needed.

lets start with basics before we guess!

old sss or new gt?

what is you set up?

when is it grip rolling? going into the corner or in the corner?

were the corners a different style to the ones id did not roll on ?

re additive, far far better with it

harder front tyres is not always the way to go, it can make it worse dependent when its going over

re additive, far far better with it

Surely that's a matter of opinion?

Set up wise . Supastox not gt
Fr 50sh
Rear 35 sh
Red spring front
Yellow spring rear
Additive used.

The corners were after a short straight into 90 degree left handers , it felt mid corner I think . Similar right hand corners were absolutely fine ?
No tweak present , ride height 4.5 mm.
Could get round ok but was weary of the sharp left handers and was losing a bit of time being causious . :(

If you don't use additive, it takes a while for the tyres to soften up and give you grip, if you use additive it takes less time for the tyres to 'switch on'

I never use additive on the outside edge to hopefully prevent chunking

nope, if it was better without, no one would use it!

id lower the ride height and go to a harder rear tyre and make sure your steering lock is identical side to side

Cool :) cheers .
Steering is bang on , I'll try tires , what should we go up to ?

37 or even 40, it will let the tyre slide a little and not bite and roll over, what diameter do you use them at?

shark 09-11-2014 07:59 PM

Been running out of the box . First runs Saturday night . I suppose trueing down would also help ?
Defo try the 37/40s .
