Transponders

Hi,

I am looking at joining TORCH with my two lads. Can someone advise me on which PT's I need and where to buy? We will only be staying local so no need for a multiuseage one.

Thanks in advance

Toby

Hi Toby

Welcome!!

We run on the RC4 Decoder for our race timing. This means that either the MyLaps “Purcy” or “Harry” will work at our track. The “Purcy” is cheaper (£65) than the “Harry” (£82) but will not work at clubs that are using the previous versions of race timing equipment.

I know you say you will only be racing locally but transponders tend to be a long term investment as fortunately they usually last quite a few years so if you get hooked on racing it is highly likely you will want to race at other tracks in the future. Your choice but I would go for the Harry although I appreciate it is a significant extra amount of money on an already expensive item.

We can lend out transponders for your first couple of meetings in exchange for your full size car keys which proves fairly effective at stopping people wandering off with them!!

Only one real outlet for new ones:

Hopefully see you at the track soon

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the info. My car is soon to be up and running but the boys wont get theirs until xmas :)

Is it possible to practice at Torch? If so, what days can I go down there? I only live about 10 minutes away from it.

Cheers
Toby

I would also be interested in practice through the winter series?
