Returning to RC Lipo advice
Haven't raced for 7 years due to having kids, still got my B4 which going to carry on with initially and brushless esc/motor etc.
But I'm going to need new batteries, I see it's all lipo now, seems to be so much choice. Can anyone recommend decent value lipo battery for club racing. I take it you need just 2 packs? Also will need a new lipo charger, again what should I go for that isn't too expensive but not cheap rubbish? |
Hi,
If there is enough time between rounds you can get away with one lipo battery. They are not like the old cells, they can be re-charged multiple times a day. (Two will make it easier / less of a rush to get things charged up.) Charger lots of options. If you are starting off, one that works on 12v and mains (built-in) is ideal. Something like this for a charger is a good option: http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/cml...tId=0000006811 http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/ima...200-8/main.jpg Lipo it would depend on where you are going to be racing, if you need to be using a battery that is on the BRCA battery list. Don't forget a lipo bag for charging. MiCk B. :-) |
Good lipos
Turning nanotech from hobby king brilliant cells for the cost!
|
+1 for Turnigy Nano Tech. The Zippy lipos from Hobbyking are also excellent - £20 for a 6000mAh 50c.
Just make sure whatever you order are hard-cased |
Gens ace are good if you need something off the BRCA approved list
|
Gens Ace through giant shark, excellent value/output, they also do some good chargers but you will probably get a better charger used on here
