NEW TO RC RACING

Hi I am looking to Spend around £100 for my Grandsons first RC car, it can be electric or petrol or nitro, what is the best in my price range and does anyone have any for sale, I am located in Old Colwyn

This is probably the nearest to your budget for 'non-toy' rc car that has spares back up & can be upgraded if a youngster wants to race it at their local club:

And this is probably better value, a race spec car but obviously a bit more money:

Of course, there are plenty in your price range such as:

I would go with the team durango as they with survive a lot of crashes and are good enough to last you a while ability wise. On top of this you will need a charger and battery which will cost you another 40 to 50 quid

My sons team c jekyll has been excellent. Robust, fun and easy to work on. Only breakage so far has been a front wishbone and less than fiver to repair. Chap on eBay does the rtr ones for £70 plus postage so v cheap too. Runs fine with a Nimh battery so £30 should see battery and charger sorted.

I agree the durango is better, but also quite a bit more.

The FTX cars are ok for messing about, but not really any good for plentiful spares and. Upgrades. More of a fast toy, than a starter racer, albeit a subtle difference
