Speed Pasty, Nosram, LRP, Losi all good motors
More important if in 2wd is if its enclosed to keep rubbish out.

I ran the Speed Passion in my 4wd which I found was entirely to much motor for my track (or my lack or driving skill) and it was well outperforming the "other" 5.5, and 6.5's on the track where we race in Florida.

They do.... i run 10.5 in 2wd.

The new losi ones (7.5 + 5.5) should be out very soon, ive used a 6.5 and 4.5 in 4wd and they are awesome.

I think the 7,5 from CS is great, but it isn't legal for the Nationals, so I'd choose Speed Passion or Orion.

The new Orion is not a worthy buy, I would advise on spending elsewhere. I tried it and was well slow, not at all impressive. Tried Corally and was impressed by the all round torque and top end compared to the awful Orion.

Welshy, you must have it geared wrong, the orions are awesome, i had one in my old cars before they got nicked and i have them in my new cars, they are the most reliable brushless i have ever run and the fastest in a straight line.

Are you still using 1400's?

Very odd as there both the same base motor?
Maybe onion put a TC sized big rotor and this affects the power band.

hehe nope, but the 1400s were something else, and it got me 11th (I think but was definately in the top twenty) in the 4wd indoor finals when every one else was running much more powerful cells at Worksop so nothing wrong with them.

Dave Belsten thought something was a bit slow and I tried various ratios but no difference. I ended up putting in a corally 6.5 and it went rather well. I was a bit disappointed with the Orion motor, but then there is always that option that it could be faulty one. But I am steering clear of Orion from now on but there is a lot of others out there to still try.

the LRP X12 looks like an absolute WEAPON! :woot:

but the X11 is still damn fine though!

JustARcFan 11-11-2008 09:04 PM

When will the X12 be available?
