cad software for 3d
 

What cad software do you recommend for 3d drawing for printers, would like it to be good for begineers, easy to use and free cheap or someone to help out with finding he right thing

Draftsight is very good & free - only has very limited 3D capability though:

I believe the full 3D version is available as a 30 day trial which may be of use...

Depends on what you are trying to model. What do you want to do with it.
Google sketch up is pretty good for basic stuff

Wishbones motor pods just general bits, not too complex

Solidworks all the way may find a free version.

Hi Mark. I use Solidworks day in day out for work and it's by far and away the easiest 'professional' 3D system to pick up. I've only used Draftsight as a 2D viewer, but with its similarities to early AutoCAD 2D versions I would imagine the 3D capabilities are very limited and also fairly difficult to work with.

If you want to contact me on facebook or drop me a PM, I might be able to arrange an 'evaluation' version of solidworks, or I think you can get a limited time trial version from the website.

Solidworks is probably the best.

If you want something that's capable and free try freecad.
It's a community developed 3d parametric software.
Not perfect, but free ;)

Ive used Autodesk Inventor most days for a number of years and has always seemed pretty intuitive even at a beginners level. It can export to most of the 3D printing formats but can be quite pricy for a licence unless you stumble apon a cracked version on a torrent website..:thumbsup:

Also seems popular for RC modelers and with a bit of practice.............

Inventor 360 is good and it is FREE.

Just Stay away from Autodesk Inventor I am forced to use it at work it is horrible product compared to Solidworks solidedge and Pro/e.
