Gearing FTX Blaze
 

Need some help with gearing this little beast.
I have 2 options and need gearing for both.
1st one - brushed combo Duratrax VR3 (prolly similar to FTX 32000RPM motor)
2nd one - brushless combo Novak Mongoose 8.5T (unfortunately it was only available option).

Track will be for 1:10 TC more technical than fast (however it'll contain some fast parts) with 2-3 jumps. Using 1:10 TC foams.

Hi Pavel,

For option 1 try gearing it at 12/49 (using the Atomic 49T spur gear) and work from there. If you have no 49T then 11/45 as a start.

For option 2 you really need the 49T and again I would start on 11/49 (The 8.5 needs a very small pinion to wind up)

Remember to keep your eye on your 8.5 motor temp though. 160'F I think it the maximum you want to hit (motor, not ESC)

Thank you c0sie. I'll try that. About motor temp - yes it's noted in manual (I'm one of those, which read manual - at least sometimes).
