Servos

What do people use?

Answer-RC-Pete 04-11-2008 01:58 PM

ACE / TTR DS1015 is in prolly 90% of race stuff.
generally KO is not tough enough though there will always be some who love them and swear by them.

i spent sat testing the new trakpower ones in a rally x car, top notch bottom of page http://www.flighttech.co.uk/Products/Servos/index.asp

I've been using the ino-lab from trakpower in my Tamiya 801XT truggy, been excellent - they'll be in the review of course.

Southwell 04-11-2008 02:04 PM

I read 2173/2174's not sure which for throttle/steering. This was a while ago, not had a go for a couple of years myself.

Answer-RC-Pete 04-11-2008 02:06 PM

Yeah -= I keep hearing goodness about the INO-Labs

Chris Doughty 04-11-2008 02:17 PM

I am also looking into what servo's to run, I saw a micro ino-lab servo in a micro car and it was amazingly fast, I didn't know they did 'full size' servos too!?

niggs98 04-11-2008 02:23 PM

when i did 8th it was the ttr ace 1015 and 1013, think these are now an associated part. i know most of the top boys swear by them, quick, strong and last ages and most of all they are cheap at 65 ish quid each, not as cheap as the flightpower ones i know but are definatly a proven servo at all levels of racing

Actually it was the same one, I took two teeth off one of the brass gears, sor turned it through 90 degrees (it didn't use the bit of the gear with the teeth missing) and it was good again........

........until I took two teeth off the other side of the same gear at the Neo :lol:

Bruce to the rescue

I thought you were the sanwa man Dave?
I've got an ACE servo myself, which I was going to use in the Tamiya, but I got the ino-labs to test out and was happy with their performance.

dave g 04-11-2008 03:09 PM

sanwa radio gear,ace servos.

my 1015 steering one is 3yrs old ,and gets abused for at least 45mins every weekend, original set of gears too.

the sanwa servos are good but overpriced when compared to the ace ones...some shops do 2 ace servos in a bundle for £99.

oh and answer your bloody pm's jimmy :)

Northy 04-11-2008 03:18 PM

I'm still in need of some ACE 1015 gears :woot:
