U4619-alloy centre track rod--how many washers req?
http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/New_Ca..._KR/U4619.html
Can someone clear up how many washers this needs? Not clear on advert to be honest. It says "it includes the kit washers" The kit only has a 0.5 washer......! Does it still need the 4mm washers ?? Or is it included somewhere else ??? Cheers |
I asked this question to Schumacher. Trish told me that the 4mm spacers are not required; the extra height is built into the servo link.
I still used a very thin washer between this part and the radius arms as it was binding up without. HTH |
If you build it with 4mm in Gareth the rack fouls the servo arm. The ball joint is higher on the new rack allowing the link to run parallel.
|
Lifting the plastic rack only alters the arce the servo arm goes through, as has been said its been done on the new machined part by moving the servo link ball

So no 4mm on the inner. What about on the outer hubs??? Normally 4mm added there also.... |
I fitted these to both my sv2 models and left the washers in but found that they had an unbelievable amount of slop and lift in the steering linkage, I experimented with different washers and in the end I removed both washers and also the same from the radius arm mounts and all the slop and lift goes away and still allows everything to move freely, the radius arms have a raised side and a flat side and I flipped them so the raised side sat upwards and when all nipped down I had a freely moving steering system with zero slop or free play, others may disagree with this setup but for me it's how it should be, all the slop just allows the front geometry to be messed up when driving
