But that link was buying through the uk warehouse so should be no import

alex97 18-07-2014 09:37 AM

its from the international warehouse.

DCM 18-07-2014 09:42 AM

Correct, international warehouse and not the UK warehouse.

Still quite amazing prices and shown in GBP....! They also say parts available soon....they should be interesting price wise..!

Peakey 18-07-2014 10:36 AM

Buy one and see if you get stung for import duty and if not I may be tempted

It's no wonder the UK shops are closing with prices like that. I'm a firm supporter of local shops and will continue to be. I dont mind paying a bit more when i get a good service.

Wouldn't buy from Hobbyking under any circumstances.

alex97 18-07-2014 11:36 AM

I why not? I've only had a few issues with them and they are all been resolved very quickly.

whoa, that's cheap. really cheap....

Ritchie T 18-07-2014 02:48 PM

Forget that, go for the 'Quanum Vandal' at the top

Postage for a B5M is £30, meaning you get change from £180.

ALL my larger parcels from hobbyking have been stung by customs.
Expect delivery to take approx 2 weeks inc customs.

BazzerH 18-07-2014 05:03 PM

You'll end up paying customs plus an admin charge for definite. Happens as soon as the containing shipment hits Europe now. Think that will be including vat at UK rates as well. Gone are the days of hobbyking asking you what percentage of the value you want to declare on the parcel. Unfortunately!

I won't be using them again. Recently bought £62 of bits n bobs. Delivery was £22 and then got email me asking to pay €27 for release into Europe by the shipping company SCS.

Live and learn huh

alex97 18-07-2014 05:17 PM

I use the UK warehouse as postage is reasonably cheap and there isn't much difference in price between the different warehouses.

I wish I was able to do that.
All 3 of my cars are powered by Hobbyking stuff. I know we should be supporting uk shops but their prices and quality can't be ignored - really puts the uk sourced equipment to shame. You can get Turnigy 120a escs, with boost , from UK warehouse, for less than £30! - I have 2 of them and they are great.

I do see what you are saying but for electrics UK shops a charging more than a "bit more" for equipment with a similar spec. I do however use them for things like spares, tyres etc.
