Rallycross at Lydden Hill

I heard on the local news the other day that the first round of the European Rallcross championship was going to be at Lydden Hill, Kent early next year. They are expecting 30,000 spectators!!!!

Good news for us here in Kent.
Does anyone have any other info on this event???

30,000 spectators wow!

perhaps somebody should get onto the organisers & ask if they'd like some scale racing there that weekend as kinda an exhibition thing?
good exposure & may open doors to a new venue etc ;)

Very good idea!!!!
I am sure Dave Andrews(aka Hog) may be able to help with this as he has worked there running the races for years.

I have been to Lydden Hill many times for circuit racing and rallycross. Its a great venue to watch from as you can see so much.

Things have certainly come along a lot since the days of the double decker bus being used for the organisers in the pits...

It is well worth a visit just to see the awesome power of these cars and you can get up close in the pits too. Shame that the Rallycross GP doesnt come to Brands Hatch anymore...

I am but a mere marshal at Lydden. Since the circuit has been taken over by Pat Doran they are looking to promote a much more professional image - I have no idea whether they would allow RC racing to take place or not.

Best bet is to get in touch with the circuit - I think the circuit manager is Amy Doran (Pat's daughter). Lovely girl with some outstanding qualities as the picture below will testify.

That's me on the left in orange with Amy in the middle of the Men and Motors girls by the way :p
