avid chassis set up for a b44.2

Hi all

Just got an avid alloy chassis for my sons 44.2, just want to know if we will need the extra steel weight ballast or is it fine how it is
let us know how you got on with yours,

Cheers Rob.

I found that the chassis was best in the damp with stock setup and stock weights. It works well in the dry but not that much better compared to the wet.

I did not use any of the weights, just the bare chassis. Very happy with it in all conditions, never felt the need to mess with weights.

One word awesome!
Use the standard weights.
You can also make up some 0.5mm brass plates for under the batterys. Around 14g per side!
It did take me a bit longer to set it up frommn the carbon chassis but now its amazing!
Worth while using with the jconcepts steering kit and durango diffs!

Setups below if required

The Schelle alloy chassis is also another option which will have a shorty conversion available for it in the future.

This works really well too and comes with a good chassis protector sheet and alloy ballast in the packet with the option of brass and delrin too.

b44.2 avid chassis

cheers for the reply guys
we have the durango diffs and j concepts steering so it sounds like we are complete,
looked at the schelle chassis but i couldn't part with £60 not knowing if it made the buggy any better, and i think the shorty battery conversion is going to be exspensive
only paid £35 for the avid chassis off ebay all new still in the bag:thumbsup:
the chassis protectors knackered because they folded it over the chassis to get it in a small jiffy bag then the post office looked like they have driven over it with a 44 tonne scania and put a lovely crease right in the middle

anyway we will try the chassis this weekend and see how we get on

cheers

the schelle chassis does make it an easier and I think faster car to drive.

first regional out with mine I scooped my highest qualifying position in a very completive mid-west series.
