Reedy lipo charger issue?...

I've got 3 sets of 8 month old reedy 7000mah 70c lipo's and I've had them from new and 2 of them have swelled, only ever balanced charged them at 3 amps and storage charged them between meetings, this is now getting beyond a joke now as I bought them to replace the nosrams that swelled as well, has anyone had the same issue with reedy lipos or does anyone think I the charger or even my truck may be causing the swelling, the charger is a bantam bc6 and my truck is an sc10.2 running 11.5 to 8.5 motors..I've got some 5 year old overlanders 5000mah 25c lipo's which are still in the same condition as when I bought them..

I await shooting down... but it seems to me that the more expensive, branded lipo's are the ones that fail the most. Or it could simply be that they are heard about more.

I have 3 sets of Reedy 5700 saddles which I charge at 5.7A always and recharge them during a club night with no sign of swelling.

I'm convinced the swelling is down to the cells going under voltage. I don't balance mine when I'm at a meeting, only at home, but my lipo cut off is set to 3.2v/cell just to add a bit more protecting.

Charging at 3A seems really low for Cells that will take 14A...

Been on the receiving end of customers who complain about there cells swelling, at least 9 out of 10 have charged them at home before attending a race meeting, they don't like to sit fully charged, my recommendation is not to charge until you need to use them and do not leave more than a hour fully charged.

Hope this helps

i only charged them at 3 amps because thats what i was told to charge them at...maybe he was wrong too...as for how long i leave them,i do charge them at least a day before i race so it could be that-as i dont like panic charging at the meeting, when i get a new set of lipo's im gonna try charging at the meeting to see if that makes a difference...maybe someone could do a lipo charging guide for all us noobs who dont quite get the in's and out's and all the pitfalls of lipo's...
