KO Servos

Just after a bit of clarification. I use KO servos in my buggies which all state metal gears. Is there still 1 plastic gear in these servos cos thats the 1 that keeps going in my car. I didnt want to run a servo saver because of the fear of affecting the steering accuracy but im getting sick of having decent runs messed up when my car decides not to turn whilst flat out normally just before a sweeping corner.
I have now went through 4 or even 5 gears and now have no spares.
Please help:blush:

Hi Chris, the plastic gear is there for protection, but it is also there because if it was a metal gear it would wear the pinion on the drive motor inside the servo and you can not change that!! just try to get a decent servo saver.

as said the plastic gear is a sacrificial gear to protect the internals of the serrvo:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Cheers for the info. I did think that it was a sacrificial gear but was told by somebody that you could get a metal 1. Im on the hunt for gears now!

Just been informed to maybe try an Ace servo. They have more torque and are supposed to be bullet proof. Im finding it hard to finish races with my new car and due to crashing more than i should, i keep breaking servos.
Any Views??

What car have you got to destroy that many sets of gears.

the ace 1015 is an awsome piece of kit, strong enough for 8th so more than man enough for ya 10th needs, only down side is that it isnt as quick as the 2123 being .10 rather than 0.06 from lock to lock. this can have a positive affect by smoothing out the car tho and i use a half height which is only .10 without issues after using a 2123 myself ;)

Cheers Niggs. I think it wont do me any harm having a slightly slower servo anyway. Im sick of not finishing runs due to broken servo gears. Anybody know where they are in stock?

sanwa erg wrx's do not have a plastic gear and also run 0.06 sec speed with 8kg of torque, 6v operation also means no fet lead!
