e.s.c what to get??

guys im trying to budget for a return back in to 1/10th tc, and need some advice on speedos,
when i quit i was running the tekin rs pro, which was great at the time. i just wondered if anyone out there runs its replacement the tekin rsx? and if so is it any good?
generally what are peoples thought on the rest out there, orca, bd etc? id be running blinky and boosted, and id rather get the best i can so budget isnt too much of an issue.
thanks in advance.

Hobbywing v3.1 so easy to change profiles and settings and enough adjustment to get lost in.

Dualsky go well

+1 on the MuchMore Fleta pro, I've got 2 now :D

Not sure which touring car class you are planning on racing, but ORCA are probably the most popular ESC for touring car racing at the moment, if going to do 13.5 or 17.5 the Yeah Racing Hacktronic is virtually the same as the ORCA and a great price at £69.99

Hpi pro flux

pugs 27-05-2014 10:47 PM

Orion r10, orca, hobbywing v3.1, hpi pro flux, abisma all these have hobbywing/ speed passion circuits anyway, and I would take a guess and say the muchmore does as well;) there isn't many that don't but they are lrp/nosram, novak and tekin:) I cant say about the dualsky as I ain't had one apart:lol:

+1 This esc just makes me a better driver! I use them for 2 years now. They have never skipped a beat. HIGHLY recommended, if you can afford them.

The 2.1 however is a very fine esc as well and you can find 2.1 clones for about 30euros... ;-)

If you are familiar with the RS Pro and the hotwire system, the RSX uses the same interface with the added ability of telemetry. Hardware is the business, and now you don't have to keep unplugging the receiver wire to do any hotwire changes as they have included a port.

Orca VXX! Well worth the money and a brilliant speedo, can't fault it.

tamiyaterror 30-05-2014 08:01 AM

thanks for the response guys, seems its all pretty much of a muchness out there then at the moment, how do you change the settings on the orion r10 and the orca vxx, via a programming box or same as the tekin via usb?

Ashlandchris 30-05-2014 08:28 AM

The R10s can be done with a prog box as long as you don't have the 45A or 60A models as these are incompatible. As I found when I bought the prog box.

I use SP in my buggies and they are very good and easy to use

dpackster1980 30-05-2014 08:04 PM

Orca VXX is nice, compact and the throttle is silky smooth. The only thing is that to make any adjustments you need the programming box but you do with many esc's now. If you're anal about wiring on the 4.0 firmware you can swap the A&C poles over which I did. :p

I'll be buying one for my 2wd thats for certain.

Can't go wrong with lrp or Nosram, wonder what the new reedy one is based on or even the Sanwa

GM ESC are very good in all

Funkymojo 22-06-2014 10:35 PM

All the esc listed by the members here are good esc. You can also try the Skyrc Toro TS 120A esc. It's cheap and really good. As good as my HW V3 and Tekin but cost way lesser...

http://www.skyrc.com/index.php?route...product_id=171

Japanese RC company Gforce sells the same esc but rebranded and cost more. The Toro TS 120A is very popular in Japan too...

+1 for the skyrc been running one in my losi 22 2.0 all year great speedo.

BazzerH 23-06-2014 11:31 AM

Skyrc ts120 are brill. Nice that if you want to run blinky all you need to do is set boost and turbo to 0 and the led starts blinking. No need to flash blinky firmware.
