Futaba 3vcs. Help!

Hi. I've just bought a used 3vcs. I tried to set up to race tonight, but the tranny stays on and I can't seem to bind the receiver's with it. Is there anybody who knows what I can do please.

I'd say to turn it off, turn the rotary switch to the right of the display. This switch allows the radio to be on but not transmitting. I.e. for setup only.. Once you've turned it off with the rotary switch, you will be able to turn on and off with the normal slide switch. you need to be able to do this to bind.

Assuming you have the Futaba FASST module and receivers, the instructions for binding are here: -

I think if you are using Spektrum modules / receivers, you also have to be in PPM mode to bind and operate.

Go into menu 3 and change mod (mode) to PPM.

Agree with Dazzler. In the main screen display, down in the right-hand corner at the bottom, are two boxes. One shows the mode you are in - HRS, PCM, PPM - and the other shows if your are on the display (DISP) or transmitting modes (RF).

Make sure that the left hand box shows 'RF', then you are transmitting - follow Dazzler's instructions above. If you are on the Futaba FASST system the right hand one should show HRS. I don't know what mode you would need for a Spektrum - check your instructions. To change the mode go to Menu 3, scroll down to 'MOD-MODE', select it and then change the mode to HRS for FASST. Select the right one for Spektrum there too.

HTH. Come back if any of the information above is not clear. :)

The spectrum in my 3vcs is set to PPM, set yours to the same.

it turned out he had a SR3520 micro RX which is DSM2 and the module was a SR1001 DSM1.

I tried the different modes and PPM seemed to be the only one that worked at all as the other modes the light on the module wasn't lit :)
