Clogher Valley MCC

I thought I might as well make a thread and periodically update the shots I take at my local club here in Northern Ireland.

So here is a few from the current back catalogue :)

A few shots from tonight, decided to use the 50 f1.8 to see if I could get some nice fairly clean images. It was nice getting to use iso400 for a change although f1.8 is some razor thin depth of field!

I bought a old school 50mm 1.8 to try out on my D70, really impressed with it! I didn't get to use ISO400 like you but the results were great. So impressed with it i've bought the digital version which should be here next week :D What lens did you use for the 1st group of pics?

Thought this was my 501x and the view you got of it last night in the "A" Final....;)
The Club hope to get the links etc on the site sorted soon. Northern Ireland used to have 4 or 5 venues for racing on polished floors but Fivemiletown is now the only one.

wicked shots, we race on polished boards and the lighting is rubbish so couldnt get any shots anywhere near as good as those , good job dude

The rest of the pictures where mostly taken with the 70-200 f4L a few might of been taken with the 300mm f4L.

Yeah thankfully we have quite good lighting in the hall. I found at f1.8 I got a shutter speed at roughly the same speed as the iso. Then for some of the panning shots I used shutter priority mode 1/100th in iso100 which gave a aperture in the f2~f3.5 region.

jimlee 21-11-2008 09:37 PM

It was only 0.2 sec :p

Who needs transponders when Fiona can hit the buttons that quick.....;)

mole2k 21-11-2008 10:54 PM

Fiona said she was very nervous watching the two cars coming towards her to make sure she got the right one :p

telboy 23-01-2009 08:03 PM

Excellent photos. Top stuff.

Lighting looks good in the hall?

I've got to get mine out again now as I've got to cover the last round of worksop, so need to get some practice in.:D

mole2k 23-01-2009 10:34 PM

The lightings better than the average hall but still not great. Those shots above where all at f1.8!
