As an F3 driver , I see it all from a "personal perception" point of view !
That said , I am a fantastic RC car driver , exceptional artist, handyman, dancer, father etc etc and an unbelievable lover !! Ha Ha !

I'm guessing Ben is referring to the possibly inflated ability ratings people have given themselfs on CentralBooking for the regional entries.

But then Ben has given himself a very low rating.

Just had a look on CB, it doesn't appear to give any guidance on how to rate ability so I guess as Graham says it's just personal perception...

If Neumann & Tebo are 100....:woot:

I guess most of the ratings are just left from Maritime entries where people tend to overrate to avoid the lower heats. I think the EOE heats will be based on last years F rating & then series average so don't think it really matters.

As a 'first timer' last year i was placed in heat one regardless of rating i had entered with, is the same method being applied this year?

I always thought heat lists for BRCA affiliated events should be based on F grading first.

Then within each F grade racers could be seeded according to where they finished in the previous years championship or are positioned in the current years championship.

There is also an exception within the rules to place a "good" driver in a qualifying heat that is not representative to their F grading.

As already said, stating your own ability is your perception of how good you are. While your achieved F grade represents your ability and consistency from the previous season.

I wouldn't worry there is a lot of good drivers going to be in the bottom heats it will be very interesting.

JCB is correct, National events are sorted on F grades, and then with in the F grades re sorted in Championship order. I did come up with an excel sheet to replicate this for the AGM but everyone was happy enough that heats should be sorted from last years championship order for round 1,i.e new drivers get tagged on to the lower heats, and from then on Championship order. Alec did indeed start last year in Heat 1 and showed how good he was by crashing in every heat :p,sorry I meant he went on to qualify for the A final and I believe win the event, so if your good enough you will work your way through the traffic.

Don't worry Alec, I wasn't referring to you having an inflated opinion of your ability:thumbsup:
