Racing servos
 

Hi Peeps.

A quick Q for those of you who raced between '94-'00. What steering servos were the best during this time?
I want a date relevant servo for my ZX-S Evo (2000)
Futaba preferably.

Any ideas?

Futaba S148 lol. Well that's pretty much all I used in that period

Not being flush, i ran a KO PS713 FET in my YZ10, had the little blue get lead that plugged into my Cyclone, great servo, never failed, and really fast, wish i could get another mint one TBH!

I ran a Futaba S9401 coreless in I think 94, great servo, it still sits in my Cougar 2 works :) I think it cost me £60 back then.

I seem to remember the Futaba 131sh was very popular at the time and the KO FET took over after that, I still have the KO in my Asute.

Servos all stated above, but the best servo for me at the time was my, KO-1001 fet servo from around 1992. Ran this for many years fantastic servo.

i used a PS-1002 FET in my cat 2000 - still running it in my couger 2000 now and still going strong, does need the extra power lead and resistor though.
still got some standard futaba servos that came with transmitter and they are still working, used in both cougars and 1/8th nitros (as throttle)

In my Lazer i used a 9402 metal geared servo and did also have a ko 1001 fet servo. Also tried a 148 with an extension from the red cable to red esc wire to give fast steering.

ko ps 1001 and ps 713, used them then and still using the same servo's now! although i have had to change the pots on them when they wore out. also have the futaba 9401, not as quick but hasnt failed me yet, not done anywhere near the miles my ko's have though

KO 1000 series - 1001, 1002, 1012 in the mid 90's, then the 2000 series after that.

On the bay atm I can get a Futaba S9402 for £50 or a KO FET 2001 for £30.
Go for the KO on price & -0.02ms speed.
Can I get away with the KO2001 date wise?
