Pit Cooling Fan
Im looking for a cooling fan to help cool the esc when in the pits, be it a stand alone one, or a cooling stand with one built in
Anyone got one for sale? |
I havent got one sorry, but I have a suggestion.
Dig out an old computer tower if you or anyone you know has one lying around. Salvage the cooling fan out of that and link it to an old ni-cad battery? Then just sit the thing on the motor/speedo between heats. If you have stuff lying around like that may save you a few quid. Does the job for me. |
I just bought a fan, cost about 5 quid, some wires and a couple of spare plugs, just run it off my psu.

Similar to the above. I bought a high rpm 80mm computer fan (£2) and soldered a 12v jack on the end so it can run off a 12v supply. I also bought an 80mm grill for £1 to protect the fan blades. It just sits over the motor/esc between heats and does the trick.

Same as others. ripped one out of an old pc and added deans. Logo to have a dig at other lads who opted for the more expensive brand which uses the same air. :p

12V pc cooling fan. i extended leads with small croc clips. after a race remove body and connect fan to battery in the chassis. place fan over area to be cooled, motor, esc etc. it's normally cold after marshalling.
the same fan even works on my gt12 3.7V 1S packs, albeit spinning slower. Maplins sell various fans and pc fans, or check eBay or a local pc supplier if you don't want a dusty old one. |
Excellent, thanks all, will get one of those put together
