Bump steer?
 

On my CAT SX I have noticed there is quite a bit of wheel toe out occuring on the front when the shocks are fully extended. Has anyone noticed it causing bump steer and if so is there a fix? It seems to me the easiest way to get rid of it would be to move the front steering to the top part of the front link plate (instead of at the bottom) but I'm not sure what other effects that will have as I have not tried it yet. It does seem there is enough clearance to move them to the top. :eh?:

I dont have any bump steer in mine. I did notice that when I first installed the front hubs, I installed them backwards (left on right and vise versa) and that gave me some bump steer. make sure your front hubs are on the correct side would be my advise. I am no expert considering I have a post on here asking build questions so take it for what it is worth. can you possibly take some pics?

My hubs are the right way around :) I tripple checked :D

If I set my front wheels at 0 toe then at full suspension extension I get at least a -1 degree toe in and at full suspension compression up to +2 degree toe out, that's a 3 or more degree variation. I've not actually noticed it causing bump steer while driving as I've only driven it indoors a couple of times but I thought it was worth asking about to see if anyone or the team drivers have dealt with it.

Your best bet is to see someone at a meeting, diagnosing these kind of faults can be tricky over a forum.

Mine has none.
Without seeing the car its hard to tell why your getting this.

Where are you racing throughout October? Worksop? Best bet is to compare your SX to another.

It all depends on how much camber change you have. With minimal camber change, there is definitely a little bump steer - there is a cure, you can raise the steering a little.
