Bury metro Rc - Help needed this Saturday.

Members & friends of Bury Metro RC, we need as many hands as possible this Saturday 22nd Feb to help pull the Astro back into place ready for re-sealing next week. Work will be starting at 9am you will need gloves. Pass this on to other racers as we need as much help as we can get.

What happened to the 6 grand track builders?
Surely not all that money for half a job?

Alan Reeves 26-02-2014 02:08 PM

That's the one, not meaning 50% just a turn of phrase

Gavin Collingwood 26-02-2014 03:06 PM

The builder was never going to be astro man as well...... Anyway what's with these armchair members birdy? The first to criticize are the ones who don't help out.....

What you asking Neil for? Surely I'd be the person to ask?

losichris 26-02-2014 05:04 PM

Wow so the track guy has bailed

Chris Elworthy 26-02-2014 05:26 PM

No Chris the track guy is still involved, the track will need a few things doing such as painting and tarting up that wasn't included in the quote.

From what I can see most of the heavy lifting is done thanks to the great turnout last week.

Unfortunatlely however Im not around this weekend so you will need to find somebody else to stand around looking clueless! Ha!

Track guy is ace. I think it's the stitching guy didn't show up Monday so the lads are meeting a new guy to stitch it all together tomorrow!!

Gavin Collingwood 26-02-2014 11:26 PM

As Chris says the builder was never going to cut and seal the track, we had one guy in mind to do it but he never got back to us do we presumed after several calls and emails he didn't want the job. We have however found the company that's sealed the track last time and they also have the same astro from last time so hopefully enough to cover the right hand side of the track. He is supposed to be coming down tomorrow to have a look and come up with a price. The only thing is he won't be free to do it for 2-3 weeks so in the mean time we need to sort out all the other jobs I.e finish off cementing the table top walls so they're smooth, then painting them. Also fixing down a permenant track barrier between the straight near the rostrum and the walkway next to the rostrum.
