Me, for this season, also have a spare to experiment with:)

brooksy 12-02-2014 07:37 PM

ME:thumbsup:

I also hear Mr Lee is still running the V1 and not the V2.
How true this is I don't know.

I see nothing on the V2 that makes any great difference/improvement on the original.

Adam F 12-02-2014 07:42 PM

Pretty sure he's running the v2, he certainly was at the weekend based on his Facebook pics..

brooksy 12-02-2014 08:35 PM

Sorry, don't do facebook:). Just going on what I'd heard that's all.
I'm sure he'll do some side by side testing on them both. Be interesting to see if he thinks there are any major differences between the two or not.

Personally I would have thought the longer car would have been better for our high grip bumpy tracks?

This is exactly what myself and a mate who has one have said. The First one would be more suited to uk tracks with it being longer. Makes for a more stable car.
Like Tom has said, just get the new parts that are on the new kit if you so wish.

leelar 13-02-2014 06:32 PM

what parts are could you use off the V2 all the front end looks the same but the rear looks new
i will keep my tm2 as long as they keep a good back of parts

AmiSMB 13-02-2014 06:54 PM

The TM2 V2 has the back end from the new TM4 which is narrower in width than the TM2 back end and uses 14mm hexes. The only other changes in the V2 are the chassis is shorter, upper rear chassis brace shorter and different due to TM4 gearbox, conventional style motor mount and you get carbon fibre shock towers front and rear otherwise everything else is the same.

Tom3012 13-02-2014 08:54 PM

The rear tower is different and the inner camber link holes are now part of the tower, the rear suspension mounts have plastic inserts to allow for set up changes, there are actually quite a few subtle differences...

Number 1 upgrade for me is going to be the ally centre bulkhead, im hoping this will help keep the slipper assembley that bit cooler, after that the ally rear blocks so i can make easier adjustments but also for the strength as ive still got the stock plastic items...

Northy 14-02-2014 09:58 AM

Do the V2 plastic and ali bits bolt onto a V1? I'm not arsed about the carbon bits.

I've got the upgrade rear end with ally camber plate on my v1 already so can't see the need to get a v2?

Northy 21-02-2014 03:47 PM

Do the V2 plastic and ali bits (gearbox, rear hingepin hangers etc) bolt onto a V1? I'm not arsed about the carbon bits.

I'm not entirely sure, cant see why not but id ask Kev just to be on the safe side :)

The rear end is totally different, and won't fit without new mounting holes.

IntegraMark 18-03-2014 06:56 PM

I'm keeping mine. both of them. I finally got it set up good enough to challenge the fastest guys at the local track. my other one is a stadium truck.

Muzzie 18-03-2014 07:19 PM

I'm still running mine this season and I'm buying a second car for spares. I still love my V1 and have a sweet setup that's very consistent both indoor and out. The smd scenario has really p*&sed me off but can't justify selling it for the sake of it. I don't think there's a car out there that can ticks all the boxes like the TM2 v1 can.
