Mardave Octane programming help

Hi, I have a Mardave Octane ESC. I have set it up using the Hobbywing 2in1 pro program box. All works but when I use reverse it takes a few seconds to engage the another few seconds to go into forward again. Is this how it is or it there something I am missing?

that's how the hw software works from the v2.1

Ok thanks for the help, that's a shame as it makes the reverse a bit pointless when racing, slower than waiting for a Marshall :blush:

Most speedos have a 1-2sec delay when switching between forwards and reverse. I believe this is to prevent current overloading if you accidently go past the max braking point and straight into reverse with your handset sticks if you are using a more powerful motor.

Saying that though, I also think there might be some out there that do offer instant reverse? Certainly any designed for oval racing seem to favour that way of working. Off the top of my head I seem to remember that the Octanne can be set to oval racing profile on ordering? Perhaps this means the instant reverse? Give them a call and ask them.

Generally speaking, many clubs discourage the use of reverse in races

Reverse is banned wat BRCA meetings and a few clubs follow that rule.
