I am hoping some of you will be willing
to share some of your basic tricks to do special effects. I am hoping to get a guide together for beginners on here.

I am talking about masks to do things like carbon effect (I use rubber non slip mat for cars dashes). I am just after the cheap options.

I know there are the vinyl cutters but not everyone can afford them !

I'd like a hint on the grungy brush effect I've seen a bit of recently... anyone care to share? :)

My tip would be if you want to create a nice marble effect spray a couple of coats of a translucent colour , dry it off , back with a thick coat of silver and whilst the silver is still wet , scrunch up some cling film loosely and dab it on the silver paint , once you've got a nice even pattern , dry it off and back with black !
