DEX 210 Availability?
Can't seem to find any of these new in the shops?
Is there a reason for that? New version coming out, Popular, discontinued? Only asking cause I am looking to buy one but wont if they are been discontinued in there current form/version. Cheers Dave |

I am just getting back into racing so not sure if it is going to make a huge world of difference to me from a performance standing but just worried about spares and such. |
I have seen Jörn drive earlier (late 2013), and at that particular event he had a Kyosho RB6 gearbox on his mid-motor 'DEX210'. He's also been testing a new gearbox in rear-motor (Euros 2013) amongst other things and 4WD stuff, so it's not a secret that he and Gerd Strenge are/were busy with R&D.
However, lately he's gone to a setup which looks more like a Durango again. This is the car Jörn Neumann ran at the Reedy Race last weekend AND the EOS a week (or two?) ago: http://events.redrc.net/wp-content/g...id_neumann.jpg http://events.redrc.net/wp-content/g...u_neumann3.jpg http://events.redrc.net/wp-content/g...ri_neumann.jpg You can clearly see a champagne-anodized motor plate with etching, which screams production part (it looks the same as the original). The same goes for the bodyshell, which is yet to hit the shelves but screams production parts' quality. The other main changes - F+R shock towers and flat suspension arms - have been around for a while and are injection moulded. Given that there are rumours of a soon upcoming release of the DEX210V2, I would dare to say that the car in the images above is in fact the V2. Also, my guess is Durango would've been trying to get a win at either (or both) high-profile events with the V2-spec kit instead of a prototype so they could announce and market the car with that achievement. Anyway, assuming the car in the pictures is the upcoming V2, I think the spec changes are likely to be like this: - Longer (+8mm?) Wheelbase. - Retention of Aluminium Chassis Plate (No Spec B Tub - at least that's the answer I got when I asked Jörn). - New Bodyshell. - Shocks behind rear suspension arms (Mid-Motor only). - New Wing to allow/match shock position? - V2 Suspension Arms (Flat). - Spec B Gear Casing (Or an entirely new one). - V2 Shock Towers (Rear tower with 1 extra hole and lower, Front tower with offset to clear turnbuckles better)? - 2mm Shorter Shock Shafts (to match the lower tower and the DEX410 shocks)? - 4/5-Hole Pistons? - No Alu+Titanium Bling (such as shock caps, shims, turnbuckles etc) unlike Jörn's car in the pictures. |
Cheers for the info... best start saving I guess
