Sleeves in Big Bore shocks
 

I've got a set of a Kyosho Big bore shocks that came on my Vega RB5. I changed the oil tonight at Silverstone and there is a sleeve inside that brings them down to the same size as small bores.

My question is, would I run the same oils as big bores or small bores. The pistons are 3 hole and orange in colour.

Also there is no colour on the springs, is there any other way to tell which ones they are.

your set up should be the same as small bores

Thanks Tony. Any ideas on the springs. On my Mugen 1/8th I count the turns of the springs, is there something similar on these.

What car are you going to run them on?

There on my Vega RB5 at the moment, but they may go on my RB6 at some stage.

Try Orange fronts with Gold rears - should be dialled :)

So it looks like the sleeves make these shocks the same size as Losi Pistons, we'll I'm guessing that as the pistons are coloured and looking on Petit's shock Comparisson charts there are coloured options on the Losi section.

So I want to set these up to a similar spec to Kyosho 3B's, I've been running 500/300 as per Kev's set up on my DB1. The hole size on 3B's is "1.15", the orange fronts are "1.32" and blue rears "1.40". 500/300 is way too soft on these pistons, I thinking about 700/450, what do people think.

It will manly be run at Silverstone, the front springs look like Losi 22 Blue, I'm not sure on the rears as I can't see any colour marking.
