B44.2 & B5M Servo Options
Hi
I am looking at getting my son a B44.2 & B5m I am currently looking at the Spektrum S6040 & S6070 Low Profile Servos. Anyone with experience with these servos or any other options for mid priced servos suitable for the above applications. Thanks in advance Mark |
I wouldnt use low profile in the 44.2 personally. Lack torqye for my liking.
Cant comment on them, but my savox 1258 hasnt missed a beat in 18 months. I race regular and its had serious abuse too. |

Just put a savox 1258 in my 4wd

Like Gaz mentioned the servo in the car on the Associated website is the DS1015. I use the Speektrum S6070 low profile in my 2wd as it came fitted in the car and the Savox 1258 in my 4wd. As an alternative for 2wd you could look at the Savox 1251 and Kopropo DS2413.

Thanks for all the replies.
I am reluctant to go with savox as had very bad experience with them in our SV2's at Area 51 a few years back. May look at the DS1015 Has anyone tried the Tresrey Off Road Spec servo Thanks again Mark |
SV2's strip gears in savxo's because they have no servo saver on them...
Personally I run a Savox 1251 in my 4wd with no problems at all and I've never done a set of gears in over 6 months of weekly racing. Can't say I've ever missed the extra 3kg of torque that a 1258 offers over it either. I also run a 1257 in my C4.2 giving 10kg of torque. If you crash and strip gears then the crash has caused it. it's not the servo being of poor quality, etc. |
servo
My sons 13 and he uses a Hitec 7965mg its been in his 44.1 and 44.2 now for nearly 18 months and its never missed a beat and hes given it some stick,
you can get them for about£50 i have just put the Hitec 7775mg low profile in his c4.2 same spec as the 7965 we have used Hitecs now for about 5 years in nitro truggys and electric buggys and only had one fail and thats because it was 3 years old |

Not saying they are poor quality but to have 3 strip in 1 meeting in 2 different SV2's (2 in mine and 1 in my sons) I think that is a little excessive. I always used Savox upto that point and was always happy with them. Do not have a mayor problem to use them again but just trying to find alternatives. |
Low profile in b44 will give a little extra space not that it needs it but b5m having no need of that would be better off with something tough and or a servo saver as it doesnt have one

Thanks for all the replys guys.
I have decided to go with the Spektrum servo but have also decided to get the Team C TM2 V2 & TM4 when they are released. Cheers Mark |
