Motor height - Why so high?
I've been really enjoying the B-max 2, but I've been wondering why they've made the motor so it isn't sat low on the chassis? Instead there's at least a 2mm gap between the chassis and the motor! Although that doesn't sound much, that's quite a big when you think about the weight of the motor.
Just wondered if there was any technical reason behind it? The DEX210 is the same.... a member at my local club has actually slotted his motor mount so it sits that much lower! |
This 2mm slot is perfect to add +/- 40gr weight ;)

Sure is, on my DESC210 I had a copper sheet underneath it. But I would much rather the weight of the motor wasn't so high up!

If the motor was on the chassis after a landing of a large jump the motor would take all the hit so i would say this is the reason for the motor being raised up 2mm, its the same principle with servos on 1/8th scale rally x they have to be above the chassis as a landing would kill them
