2014 Dates (draft)

Just so everyone can get some idea of when and where the 2014 series will be heading I am posting this draft calender. I just need to hear back from one club after an AGM to confirm if they can host and then the jigsaw will fall into place.

Currently...

Round 1 30th March @ either ARC or Holbeach
Round 2 27th April @ either ARC, Herts, Colchester or Holbeach

Round 3 26th May (bank holiday Monday) @ NBC (Norfolk Buggy Club)
Round 4 15th June @ Boughton
Round 5 6th July @ ARC or Holbeach
Round 6 20th July @ Herts
Round 7 10th or 17th August @ ARC, Colchester or Holbeach

Hopefully the final calender will be confirmed by the end of January.......

So are the dates pretty much set, it's just the location that might change on a few?

colin76 15-01-2014 07:06 PM

Yes the dates are set, we could have had one over Easter, but then the gap between rounds would be 3 and 5 weeks, this way the gap is fairly even all year. It's just Round 7 I need to confirm a date.

Cool, looks like a lot of holiday request forms to be filled in tonight:thumbsup:

So there's 7 dates and 6 venues, who's the lucky track to get 2 regional dates this year, I know what I'm hoping for Colin. Do you accept bribes

Well, We can't really hold a second round at Boughton, having the F2's will keep us busy, ARC, Colchester and Herts said they could possibly hold a 2nd round, I am not sure if NBC can, DAVE????? Trouble is I need round 1 on 30 March, otherwise the season will not start until 27th April, trying to avoid the Nationals, and 1/8 Rally X dates, minus holiday, model holiday etc does not leave too many free weekends. Soooo, we will have to see. I believe it's the mid east AGM this weekend, so I will have a better idea of Holbeach's dates etc and if they can host a round, other wise it will be two clubs with two meetings :-)

racingdwarf 23-01-2014 08:09 AM

can hold a second if need be;)

could hold one on grass and one on dirt, but the tyre rule puts pay to that

You saying yellow mini's DON'T work everywhere?!

racingdwarf 23-01-2014 10:16 AM

simple answear, no idea:D. as a rule I don't let anyone use spike tyres on the dirt to maintain the surface, as dirt tyres work better and are kinder to the track, costs a few quid to relay the track and we are only a small club,I'm trying to keep re doing the dirt to once a year.

Never tried dirt proper, so I'm sorry for being ignorant!

markw 23-01-2014 12:43 PM

Shame we cant have one at coastal ...

colin76 23-01-2014 05:23 PM

Coastal would be a welcome venue :-), not been since the track has been fully astro turfed, but looks good.

Mr.B 23-01-2014 11:41 PM

Looks like 2 rounds at ARC then?

colin76 24-01-2014 10:02 AM

Possibly, but it depends on dates, plus I would not want say 2 out of 3 rounds to be at the same venue, I want to spread them out a little.

Just in case no-one else has noticed and needs to get their Brownie points up beforehand.........30th March is Mothers Day:blush:

Oh come on, please change the date!! I'll be in the dog house for a month:cry:

Juddy 26-01-2014 11:06 AM

I know there are some issues with it, but I'd love to have a meeting on the norfolk dirt track! That would be something a bit unique for our region, and doing stuff a bit different is what we are famous for.

colin76 26-01-2014 07:55 PM

Yes I only realised it's mothers day at the weekend, the problem is we are short on weekends etc, plus so many clubs are holding meetings those days too. So if your in the dog house for a month you have plenty of time before the meeting on 27th April to make it up to her lol

Point taken, you better book one for fathers day and my kids birthdays too, then it'll be the sofa for me for the foreseeable future lol. Seriously though, kick arse good job at regional rep again Colin, you seem to have seen off most of last years keyboard warriors too:woot:

colin76 26-01-2014 08:14 PM

Many thanks JB, I have noticed on some other regional forum's that some people have been moaning about small things lol....it's not just us then.
