airbrush question

OK i spray the odd shell from time to time,i love my iwata airbrush but have been using a cheap ab180 / 130 / 186 lately, there all OK and do the job but for the very fine detail work the iwata just seems to have the edge, I'm looking to upgrade and buy another airbrush or two, what have you used and how does it feel and perform, haven't tried badger or paasche,

dont waste your time with badger but paascha is worth a look

bigred5765 22-09-2008 09:58 PM

what do you use now model / make etc.

i recently purchased a richpen mojo for getting into 'normal' painting. the feel/response is just incredible.
heres my second attempt at painting normaly with it. its on 12x16" mounting card

the brush i use for doing my shells is an iwata revolution cr and is more than capable of the job.
if yer iwata is doing the trick, why upgrade.

I use the Iawata HP-CR as it comes with a slightly larger nozzle assembly, which makes working with Faskolor, far less tedious.

indeed!

my iwata is a little old and only has a .2 nozzle i was ether going to get a .35 or .5 iwata to do the larger stuff or buy a cheap one for coverage and upgrade my old one

I'm getting a few to play with for a review for the mag. So keep an eye out for that in RRCi.

Some budget ones and mid range priced ones.

I'd never even heard of paasche until they mentioned it.

It'll be in the xmas issue, hopefully.

I've got a HP-CR and a TR2 both are pretty good. TR2 has the trigger as opposed to the button and is pretty good for larger areas. Priced at around 170ish I think too.

I could do with a trigger brush which would be good for detail, I get terrible cramp in my finger after, and it aches for days too

just found the iwata cr for £43 plus £18 p&p
do you not find the lack of mac air valve a pain with the cr im use to it now and have to say i love it.
