CAT SX shock barrels

Has anybody had any problems with the shock barrels ? All four of mine are covered in a white residue and the thread of the barrels look a bit pitted :( i don't want to build them if they are going to damage any other part of the shock. Ive tried to clean them but they ain't right:(

Mine looked a little white, but after building the shocks and the bleed oil covering them they look nice and shiny. No problemo

Mine were like that, just wipe them over with shock oil theyre spot on after...

Same here - no worries with them. I have run them at one event and rebuilt them (without replacing anything but oils) just to flush out anything which may have mixed with the oil.

Mine also, i'm glad everyones are the same.......I was worried all the excitement had got too much for me

I didn't get any shock oil either, but i did with my Mi3?

Yeah I noticed that. You would have thought a company like Schumacher with their massive range of (very good) shock oils could have put in just a little drop, enough for the build.

No real issue, as I have a load of the stuff, but still... if that's one of the only things I can moan about in my build, must be a good car

 i can finish the car tomorrow then, thanks for the replys. I was a bit worried i'd have to get them replaced:D

Yeah a little shock oil did the trick for me :)

The Mi3 ones were the same. I just brushed any rubbish out of the threads and then wiped them with some shock oil.

That's why i posted tel, the two sets that i built while having the Mi3 were spot on nice and shiney and no rubbish in the barrel.
