Recommended Personal Transponder to purchase
 

Hi All,

Happy new year!

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what PT to buy? I note that the AMBrc seems to support all timing systems used in EoE BRCA regionals, so is this the best one to get?

I think at the min any AMB transponder apart from the purcy as the percy will only work with rc4 and I know of only two clubs in our region that may be up grading there system so a harry is a safe bet as it will work with all the systems in the EOE and RC4. But it's about 17 quid more than the purcy if you buy it from bbk:yawn:

so yer hit ebay or keep an eye on the for sale section,:thumbsup:

if you are tempted by a cheep MRT it's ok unless you go to a club that has upgraded to RC4 then you will have problems. but I have heard mrt has created a new one to work with RC4:confused:

so at the end of all that waffle, the one word answear to your question is..... HARRY

Seems then this is one I'll get MyLaps Harry (MyLaps new name for AMB timing systems): http://www.bbksoftware.com/. It looks smaller too.

Although £82 is very steep....

mylaps Harry will work with any AMBrc decoder, the Purcy only with the RC4 decoder.

As you also run at Coastal and we have the RC4 decoder the only MRT PT thats works is the very latest one and not sure how you tell which is the new version and which is the old version.

Harry is your best bet

Hi the AMB are the ones to go for, if you have a lower budget then go for the older type(as per the first ebay listing in the thread) they are good and will work with RC2/3/4 as will the 'Harry', but the 'Purcy' will only work on RC4.

I will have some brand new 'Harry' pt's for sale early next week, they are brand new from BBk as a part exchange deal I have done.

Watch out on Oople next week for the bargains:thumbsup:

heard a rumour but wasn't sure you guys were upgrading.

NBC may also run the RC4. but would still recommend harrys to members at this time.
