Endurance event anybody?

I was talking to Chris and Charlie and they suggested that at West Bridgeford you held and endurance event once?

Each team comprising of 3 drivers.

Be good to hold this again using budget bathtub chassis so the bits are cheap, brushed motor setups or equivalent brushless systems for comparable speeds etc?

Just for fun ...

Any interest in doing this again?

Minis / TT01's / TL01's that type of thing ...

Scott.

Yes we hold an endurance event every year, usually the 1st Friday in May. 1/10th of 24hrs = 2hrs 24minutes.

Definitely a good idea to post your ideas of which chassis, motor and team size etc

Gives everyone time to organise things

siddus74 16-12-2013 10:52 PM

What were the base line rules of the previous event, team numbers, chassis etc - or was it completely open?

Scott.

thorny97 16-12-2013 10:55 PM

Off road, 3 in a team

siddus74 16-12-2013 11:00 PM

So it will be off road this time?

Scott.

Dave Dodd 16-12-2013 11:14 PM

Nothing has been decided yet.

Can clubs enter :D

siddus74 16-12-2013 11:31 PM

Can we not have an onroad and an off road endurance event if the numbers are good?

Scott.

If there is enough interest then yeah. 😁

I quite enjoyed the GT12s last year... I would suggest Clubman endurance, but my TL01 would probably melt...

siddus74 17-12-2013 02:53 PM

I thing clubman endurance would be ace ...

What are others views?

Scott.

cunawarit 17-12-2013 04:12 PM

With the right car yes, it would be great. Long stints would be manageable with sensible speeds.

siddus74 17-12-2013 04:36 PM

what do you and everyone else class as the correct car? speeds need to be manageable yeah ..

Scott

cunawarit 17-12-2013 04:48 PM

My requirements are simply a car that isn;t highly likely to break or go up in flames over the event :) I've only ever done one endurance event and that was quite revealing.

The cars were GT12 and Tamiya Minis. The GT12s were rock solid and largely lasted the whole event. The Tamiyas spent the lots of time in the pits getting fixed.

Im well up for it, rules can depend on what classes are popular at the time so a clubman event might be a good idea. Got plenty of TA01/02 spares and it should be ok with a modest motor

siddus74 17-12-2013 06:20 PM

Im happy to drive anybody cars or let people drive my M05 ... it handles really well and is easy to drive ....

Scott.

Chris56 17-12-2013 06:25 PM

Count me in mate - if its easy to drive I might do ok!!!
