Nosram pure fault
Hi all
I have an 8.5 that gets very hot very quickly, even when out of the car. Bearings are good and feels ok. Any suggestions before I bin it? It seems to halved full power and operates correctly! Cheers Dave |
- Check the punch and timing settings are neutral.
- Check if the rotor is binding for any reason (angular misalignment, bent motor shaft, too little space between the bearings). - Check if there are any connections that may increase resistance somewhere in the electronic circuit. - Look back into it's history: How old is it, how many times has it become hot and exactly how hot? Neodynium magnets start to permanently lose their magnetic capacity above 80 degrees centigrade. I don't know if that has an effect on power consumption (I'm no expert with electronics), but I'd say it can't help the motor's efficiency. |
