LC Racing RTR - moving from brushless to brushed

Hi, I'm looking for a bit of advice.

First off, until now I have only played around with 1/10th gear.

I have an LC Racing EMB-1H RTR micro buggy, which comes with the 35A hobbywing speedo and brushless motor.

This is to be a gift for my 4 year old daughter for xmas, and so I want a slow, smooth throttle.... which this sensorless brushless system won't deliver.

Can anyone advise me if buying a 380 silver can motor from ebay circa £5

and a small brushed speed controller for £10

will this deliver what I require.

thanks, Chris.

Might be a better idea to make a couple of 2/3A 4 Cell nihm packs instead? Should be plenty slow enough!

Get a similar pack to this and just unsolder the end 2 cells - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-2v-1500m...item5644ea2411

Hi Dan,

thanks for the reply, but it's the cogging more than anything that will be the problem.

Thats why I thought to stick a brushed system in for now?? It's what the crawler guys do .... apparently.

Chris.

Potentially could cog I suppose! But then again I'm sure people in 1/12th onroad race sensorless motors with a 1 cell lipo only being 3.7v?

Chris you shouldn't have a problem with this. when I first started out the model car party business I had 3 losi mini 8's and i modified the transmitters so that I could limit the end points.

The cars didn't suffer cogging at all and were only doing 5-6 mph. Just make sure you put the smallest pinion on that you can. These were all running the standard kit apart from my national race car that had an ez run 60a esc in it.

I was running the car on 2s lipos.

I now use losi micro rally cars and a mini z track but with the controllers limited. again no cogging issues.

If you want to make the speed adjustable on your TX it's not too difficult. Just need a twin pot variable resistor and some servo wire!

Thanks

Ben.
