The radio is a dx3s,got two orange rx's and can not get either to bind

fidspeed 24-11-2013 06:09 PM

are u powering rx thru bec in esc while binding or 4.8 v nicad ppack

i had a problem racing today with a core/pulse which wouldnt bind using a rx pack needed more voltage through BEC ?

seems more like there faulty in all honesty

Using power through esc.,.,., seems funny for 2 not to work

fidspeed 24-11-2013 06:13 PM

just re read thread

im sure you have bind plug in ?

you talk about "press" i can see no button on RX in pics /

sorry asking stoopid questions just trying to shed light on it

Sorry if I'm vague yep bind plug is in,light flashes you press bind on rx the it flashes for a bit then goes out, have just read the they are not compatabile with early radios not sure if this is the problem

If your DX3S is indeed a DSM2 tx (orange sticker on the back side), bind the receiver with a rx battery plugged in the receiver.

fidspeed 24-11-2013 06:53 PM

i must admit i thought DX3R/S/C series was DSM2 i use spekky modules in my ko radios i know there only DSM not DSM2

be worthwhile checking

The Dude 24-11-2013 06:56 PM

DX3R and C are DSM2 indeed, but the first S were DSM, that's why I suggest to check that orange sticker

I use the Orange GR300 in my C4.1 (had problems with the Spektrum micro ,but no probs at all with the Orange rx) together with a Spektrum DX2S transmitter.
There is NO bind button on the GR300 Rx..!.. put bind plug in rx, power via esc , select BIND on transmitter and press selector button on transmitter.. job done.. I dont know what you are pressing on the rx, but it is not a bind button..have mine in front of me now..!
just one thing...make sure you have the bind plug in the right way round ..like any other thing plugged into rx, it needs correct polarity..

fidspeed 26-11-2013 09:28 PM

sorry to correct, you bind plug is not bothered about which way you plug it in (as long as its the bind port ) its only a simple wire bridge

what is important as defined earlier by the dude is the operating system earlier systems are DSM, later systems are DSM2 (and backwards compatible to DSM

the original poster may possible have an early dx3s which is DSM only hence the inability for the tx to "see" the orange rx which is DSM2

regards dave

I've got the same tx an had the same trouble with my two orange receivers, look at the sticker on top of the tx an it more then likely says DSM which unfortunately means it's not comparable with orange receivers
