Next TCRCMC meeting Friday 29th November

Hi Guys,

Our next indoor meeting will be on Friday 29th November 2013.

The hall opens at 17:00 with practice starting as soon as the track is laid. Heat one on the line for 19:15.

The format will be 3 rounds of FTD qualifying, and finals.

Sorry but at the moment the club doesn't have any tyres in stock, I will update this information when they are back in stock.

Entry fee:

Senior: £7 club members, £10 non-members
Junior (Under 16): £4 club members, £6 non-members
Classes: 2wd/4wd/SC/Micro

Track markings are a big improvement, the 'heavy' ends will be here soon and will be another leap forward.

Many more features and jumps needed to make it interesting and challenging again, which used to be the big draw at this venue and that's what will bring people back.

Next weeks track will be more challenging so be warned :thumbsup:

New track markings are good especially now I have obliterated a hole in the one at end of the straight with my appalling driving skills:o apologies!

I think the only improvement could be to find a way to introduce some curves etc to make some of the apex's a tad less harsh for less able drivers.

I think your definitely on the right lines Alec, heard more than one person last night talking about the old tracks that used to be set out and how good they were.

It wasn't my decision to take out the bigger jump, I personally felt it ruined the layout and made it boring without it. It wasn't difficult to do, it actually made you slow down properly for the corner and think about it more, but the car did all the work itself. All the driver had to do was judge the speed correctly and drive straight :thumbsup:

The rounded edges will come, as will heavier ends that stop the track markings from moving. Bumpy sections, more jumps, slippy bits etc will be introduced ASAP. Anyone with any plywood lying around please bring it along, we'll find a use for it for sure. :)

Definitely can go too far and and make it an obstacle course, a couple of well thought out features in a nice flowing but technical track is probably going to be better than a load of jumps just chucked down once the track is laid out.

I always liked the double or triple rollers made out of plywood that used to be used regularly, if they are set out properly they didn't punish you with breakages if you buggered it up but a better driver could gain time by clearing as a double then single etc, just an example of catering for all abilities.

It's also worth remembering that less experienced drivers (myself included) are more likely to improve given the opportunity to try more testing features.

What size is those PVC barrier ? maybe I could come up with something...
